Progressive just started a new program called Snapshot – you plug a small device into your vehicles computer port and it captures your accelerating and braking habits to decide if you qualify for a safe driver discount.

You can also chose to take a safe driving course – don’t worry; you’re never too old for one of these! The courses vary in cost depending on where you live, you can search for a class online or in your phone book. If you are having trouble finding a course call either your local Department of Motor Vehicles or call the Public Safety Department and see if they can direct you to a safe driving course.

Put your phone away, don’t drink and drive, pay attention to the road and other drivers, and you’re insurance costs will stay low. Accidents count against your and will increase your premium rates. Just remember, when you are driving you should focus on the most important task on hand: keeping yourself and other motorists safe.
