Best Buys on Womens Golf Clubs
When you try out a set of womens golf clubs you’ll quickly see why most women
golfers require shorter clubs with higher loft. Women golfers typically have a slower swing speed than their male
counterparts.
There are exceptions to the rule and you may find some women who actually have
stronger swings than many men. But, in all reality they are the exception rather than the rule.
Womens golf clubs come in a range of brands and styles. The club heads are made
from a wide variety of materials. Beginner golfers are inclined to opt for zinc and aluminium alloy as they are
less expensive. However, an experienced lady golfer will probably buy titanium golf clubs. Titanium is a much
harder metal, especially if it's cold-forged. Titanium is really popular for drivers.
When buying womens golf clubs online or from a golf shop consider these
points.
Determine your swing speed with a driver. Also try it using a five iron. If your
swing is faster than 70 mph you should be able to use titanium faced drivers and get an advantage from the spring
effect produced by these type of club.
If, on the other hand, your driver speed is around 60 mph then you will probably
be best with a special titanium face. If you are a really serious lady golfer you may want to consider a set of
specially custom made womens golf clubs. You will pay a lot more, but your game should improve greatly as a result.
Custom made womens golf clubs would need to be made by a certified fitter and club maker.
Club face loft is another important consideration. The slower your swing, the
higher the loft is needed. If you are a golfer who can easily get the ball in the air, a loft of 13-14 degrees
should work well for a driver. If you have trouble getting the ball to rise into the air, you might require a 16
degree 3 wood to get the most from your swing.
When buying womens golf clubs make sure your pitching wedge has at least 4 degrees
more loft than that of your 9-iron. Your sand wedge has a minimum of 56 degrees of loft. If there is a big
difference in the distances you hit with your pitching and sand wedges then you will also require a gap wedge, but
this is not likely to be necessary if you have a slow swing speed.
Also consider adding a lob wedge to your new set of womens golf clubs. A lob wedge
can be very useful. However, if you have a slow swing then for both the sand wedge and lob wedge you do not want a
large bounce angle as your lack of power will not allow you to dig far into the sane or ground
respectively.
If you prefer to buy womens golf clubs off-the-shelf readymade from a shop this
maybe okay if you are of average height. Most off-the-shelf womens golf clubs are standard length clubs. They allow
a player to hit the ball on center a higher percentage of the time, thus increasing distance and
accuracy.
